To ensure the highest standards of safety and preparedness, all volunteers must complete specific training requirements as outlined by Little League International and the State of California. These trainings help protect our players and empower our volunteers with the knowledge they need to lead with confidence.

Abuse Awareness Training
Required annually for all volunteers
This is a free, 30-minute online course provided by Little League International. It helps all volunteers recognize and prevent abuse in youth sports.

Little League Diamond Leader Training
Required annually for select managers (Allstars and TOCs).
This free educational course from Little League International focuses on supporting the mental, social, and emotional well-being of young athletes.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Training
Required one time for all managers and coaches
This training, offered by the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation, teaches how to recognize and respond to sudden cardiac arrest.
• Aptos Little League has an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) located in the Scorekeeper’s Booth at Aptos Junior High Field 1
• AED instructions will also be reviewed during our annual safety meetings

Concussion Protocol Awareness
Required one time for all managers, coaches, and administrators
This course provides education on concussion prevention, identification, and response. It must be completed once before supervising any athletes.
